Magen David Adom\u2019s National Blood Services Center is a critical infrastructure facility, where every system and process is measured first and foremost by continuity, control, and the ability to meet stringent requirements over time.<\/p>\n\n
Electra FM became involved at the site during the construction phase, approximately eight months prior to occupancy, with the objective of ensuring that the facility would be delivered to the highest standards, fully operational, of high quality, and aligned with the blood bank\u2019s unique operational needs. Throughout the construction period, ongoing site inspections were carried out, along with contractor supervision, professional documentation, and the provision of comments across all facility disciplines. Upon receipt of the facility documentation, a thorough review was conducted, followed by recommendations for improvement and operational adjustments. <\/p>\n\n
Following occupancy in May 2022, full responsibility for facility maintenance was transferred to Electra FM. The site\u2019s maintenance operations, led by Shalom Bitton, Site Maintenance Manager within Electra FM\u2019s Maintenance Division, currently include 12 professional team members. Operational responsibility spans all building systems, including electricity, water, building management systems, air conditioning and refrigeration, as well as a dedicated and unique on-site calibration department. <\/p>\n\n
Beyond the infrastructure systems, Electra FM is also responsible for the blood bank\u2019s dedicated equipment and for ongoing maintenance at external sites located throughout Israel. In addition, a Tavas team of 25 employees, working across two shifts, operates as part of Electra FM\u2019s managerial and operational framework. The scope of work includes handling faults and malfunctions in coordination with suppliers and manufacturers, maintaining controlled documentation, managing calibration and validation processes, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Health regulations, and working in close collaboration with MDA\u2019s Quality Assurance Department. <\/p>\n\n
With the outbreak of the Swords of Iron War, the blood bank relocated from its previous site at Tel HaShomer to the new facility in Ramla. From that moment, the operational responsibility expanded to include management of the State of Israel\u2019s national blood inventory in the field of refrigeration, operation of the milk bank and the blood bank, operation of the national 101 emergency dispatch center, and full support for continuous 24\/7 activity under emergency conditions. <\/p>\n\n
The complex also houses MDA\u2019s national logistics warehouse, MDA\u2019s senior management, the blood bank management, the national human milk bank, a cord blood bank, the national 101 emergency dispatch center, and the paramedic school. All of them rely on stable and closely controlled operational infrastructure. Alongside its core operations, the complex also includes an auditorium with 321 seats, as well as lecture and meeting rooms. <\/p>\n\n
Electra FM is also responsible for the ongoing management of events held on site, including the operation of the multimedia systems and full technical support. This is what professional development looks like when it is directly connected to the field, to responsibility, and to the operational reality of critical systems.
